But I'm not snoring. *groan* Sad eh?
I love stormy weather but I have plans to go shopping today. K-Mart is doubling coupons up to $2 and I want some free shampoo. =) I already went on Thursday and got over $150 worth of product for a little over $40. All stuff we'll use or donate.
But the question is whether to force the doggies to stay in their kennel outside in the howling wind and rain ... or risk leaving them in the house and come home to a disaster. *sigh* Timber isn't exactly trusted yet. But I may just leave them inside and try to put anything that can be destroyed away in other rooms. The other three dogs aren't exactly trusted all the time either but I'm hoping if all they have access to is their bones and toys they'll leave wires and paper alone! LOL
Oh ... and the TV season keeps on keeping on. I watched Bones and Sarah Connor last night on DVR. I absolutely LOVE the Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. It just rocks. But it did confuse the heck out of me this last episode. Is Cameron good? Is she bad? I don't know. I is confused.
I still have Fringe, Law & Order SVU, House, and several of my other favorite shows to watch this weekend. I don't know how I survived without the DVR. =) If I had to cut expenses back drastically I'd be hard pressed to cut the DVR service. I think I'd give up my cell phone first! hahahahaha
So here's a survey about TV. Enjoy!

Survey: More TV Junkiness
For some reason I thought I watched a lot more TV but there are tons of shows that I do not watch.
I can't wait for Survivor to start though! All these seasons later I'm still hooked.

Yes I am a TV Addict
So what's your point?
I watched the first episode of Fringe and LOVED it. I rarely start watching new shows when they first come out but I set up the DVR to tape it and watched it on Sunday. Seriously creepy and awesome. Very X-Files meets CSI meets I don't know what else. But it just adds one more show to my addiction.
Other shows that are rocking right now ...
House
America's Next Top Model - OMG I have so many opinions on this season's contestants
Bones
Psych - the season just ended and I'm so sad
Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles - LOVE this show...seriously LOVE it
Fringe - Can't wait to watch the episode I taped last night
There are more ... too many to list probably. It's amazing that I get anything done at all considering all the TV I watch. =)

Top of the Muffin To YA!
I feel really old. Granted, 30 is not old. But it used to be that I was the youngest kid on the block at work. I was the "young pup" who everyone teased about being young.
Yeah...those days are so over. *sigh*
The interns at our company are just babies. They are so young that they don't even know Seinfeld references!!!
We had these amazing cupcakes on Tuesday and I just ate the "muffin top" and threw away the "stump" ... the intern just gave me a blank stare while my other coworkers laughed. I asked if he ever watched Seinfeld and he shook his head.
Oh dear Lord...I apologize to all those who I teased when I was younger about not knowing certain shows - or when I asked my mom what a "record" was.
Seinfeld is a classic. It's completely inappropriate and wonderful. My coworkers and I use lines from Seinfeld all the time. I still watch the reruns.
And it's now a show that "old" people watch. *sigh*

We Lost the Remote
I am a TV addict. I think I've mentioned that before.
But since it's (supposedly) summer there isn't much on. Thankfully I signed up for Netflix a few weeks ago, via EBates so I got a free month. Woohoo!
So the first CD for the first season of Criminal Minds came and I was psyched to watch it...the problem is that the DVD remote control is nowhere to be found. We searched everywhere. Under cushions, under the couch, under the coffee table, in the garbage...everywhere. The last time I had it was when I watched that horrible movie last week (something about a Dangerous Mind...I'm trying to block the whole thing out). So it hasn't been that long. I have NO idea where it went.
And did you know that when you're trying to select different episodes of a show on a DVD you must have the remote. We were able to push play (we had to get up and do it manually on the DVD player!!!) for the first episode but after that we were out of luck.
Luckily we are one of those families...we have TWO DVD players! Ha! So as we went to bed I watched another episode in bed.
Can you order spare remotes? What I'd really like is to program one giant remote...as it is, with the DVD remote, we have four remotes. One for the TV (which we only use to switch modes). One for the cable box. One for the DVD (MIA). And one for this huge box thingy that I'm not really sure of the function. I think it has something to do with the surround sound system. We practically have to have a masters degree to run our TV system. And I LOVE it!
But I want my DVD Remote back.

I'm a Television Junkie - So What?
Yes, I am addicted to TV. What's your point?
And two of my favorite shows are being renewed for second seasons. WOOHOO!!!
I'm not a sci-fi junkie but I love the show Eureka and I've been wondering what was going to happen since the first season ended. Looks like they're filming now.

Another show that I scoffed at when I initially saw the commercials is Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles. However, after hearing great reviews from Instapundit, I decided to give it a chance and I LOVED it! And it's been renewed too. *HAPPY DANCE*

Now if Psych would hurry up and start new shows I'd be super happy.
My favorite shows...it's a long list.
Favorite Reality Shows (or at least the ones that I am addicted to)
I even watch reruns -
What's your favorite TV show? Or are you one of those amazing and crazy people with no TV? I can't even comprehend that. However, I don't want my future children to be as nuts as me so somehow I'm going to have to cut back. Maybe that's why we haven't had kids yet. LOL =)

CHUCK Rocks!
I am a total television junkie. I fully admit and embrace this fact. I was born and raised with TV - not that my parents made it a baby sitter - I remember plenty of fun outdoor activities - but after my dad died the television was definitely my friend. After school at the baby sitters I would plant my butt on the couch and watch my favorite shows - I was always the oldest so it was my decision what we watched. :)
And not much has changed. I tend to throw a fit if hubby tries to make me change the channel. My life is sadly structured around the TV schedule. It's amazing that I get anything done but I do! I can't just *sit* and watch TV. I have to be doing something else at the same time. Which is why I prefer to have my program on in the living room on the big TV instead of the bedroom. I have many more projects going on in the living room area. About all I can do in the bedroom is fold laundry - and that's no fun.
But last night I was desperate to watch Chuck but hubby had dibs on the big TV for the Miami Dolphins vs Philly Steelers last night (Miami lost - shocking!). So it was to the bedroom I went for my weekly dose of Chuck.
This show is freaking HILARIOUS!!! I am completely addicted to it. I missed an episode once and thankfully was able to watch it online. TV online! I am in big trouble. Last night's episode was not a disappointment. It's so funny that I laugh so loud and hubby gets mad. HA!
When I say that my life revolves around the TV schedule I am so not joking...
Monday - Watching Chuck - taping Aliens in America
Tuesday - Bones & House
Wednesday - America's Next Top Model (I know, shut up and stop laughing)
Thursday - Survivor and CSI (I tape My Name is Earl and the Office)
Friday - Moonlight (my MIL got me hooked on this one) and Las Vegas - both taped while I watch What Not to Wear
Other favorites - Law & Order SVU, Psych, Eurkea, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, the Dog Whisperer, reruns of Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, That 70s Show, Seinfeld, King of Queens, oh the list goes on and on! And lest you think I am completely shallow - I also LOVE the History channel (including the International history channel), Discovery channel, and the other learning style channels.
Saturday and Sunday I am catching up on shows taped during the week - I rarely stay up past 9 p.m. so anything on at that time gets put on the DVR. What a wonderful invention! :)
My poor husband never had a chance at the remote. It is MINE!

I Am Not Alone
As I drove to work this morning I contemplated the annoying intrusion of "Green" into my nightly veg out routine. I enjoy plopping down on the couch and vegging out to my favorite TV shows like Chuck, Bones, House, and yes, even America's Next Top Model. I fully admit to being a total TV junkie.
And in the last few days some of my favorite shows have jumped on the Green bandwagon and started lecturing me on my harmful impact on the planet.
*insert very obvious eye roll here*
I am SO sick of being lectured to...not to mention having people try to scare me into thinking the earth is going to end soon if I don't throw away my car and walk to work. I LIKE my car. I actually even like my commute. It's me time. I can listen to the radio (or yell at it in some cases) or music or nothing and just drive in quiet.
I'm not opposed to the idea of keeping things clean and pretty. I don't like pollution. It's icky. It makes things stink and look bad. But compared to 30 years ago, my state is practically pristine. It's not perfect, of course, but it's pretty darn gorgeous here.
I recycle (most of the time) though not obsessively. I do my best to get the most miles out of my car. But not to save the planet...I don't want to have to spend a ton on gas. I would NEVER pour oil down a drain. I never litter (my own husband would write me a ticket if I did, trust me on that).
So when Sunday night football becomes so ridiculous as to lecture me to turn off my lights as they sit in a dark studio I get a little annoyed. NBC has turned their peacock logo green. It's all about sustainability and enviro-friendliness. Arg! Leave me alone! All I want to do is watch TV in peace.
And it turns out that I am not alone in my annoyance. Eco-Fatigue is starting to hit and I am SO glad! I'm sick of being told that I need to buy carbon credits and monitor my carbon footprint. What a ridiculous concept. Whoever came up with buying carbon credits is now rolling on a bed somewhere with $1,000 bills laughing at all of you who think this is a legitimate idea.
I was laughing hysterically during last night's episode of Chuck. My concern for how they were going to turn this great show into some politically correct spew was unfounded. One of the main characters is this annoying power tripping guy who was being a recycling nazi. Made recycling look real fun (insert sarcasm). And then some hippy dippy loser was trying to save the planet by planting trees, who 'Casey' properly squashed. Then it turned out the hippy dippy loser was an undercover CIA agent who shows up to save the day with a big 'ol gun! ROFL Take that enviro-wackos! I was loving it!!!
Thank you, Chuck, for not making one of my new favorite shows into some lame Al Gore wannabe appeal to save the planet.
