I'm very rarely embarrassed, and to be honest I'm not entirely embarrassed even now. But I'm definitely not thrilled with how trashed my work space (really, it's spaces...I'm spread out all over the place) for my jewelry has gotten. Hubby keeps getting on my case because as soon as the little man starts to crawl he'll be getting into everything...including my beads and supplies!
Yes, this is where I "work"...*hangs head in shame*... I like chaos but even this is a bit much for me. You can see the partially completed necklace, which is now finished, as I worked on it.
The last thing I want is my pumpkin head to choke on a bead that has fallen on the floor. I'd love a new system that allows me to stay organized and creates a work environment conducive to creativity.
Hubby wants to move me into the garage. I say that's not exactly conducive to creating. Especially since the garage is pretty much as trashed as my current space.
Above is my secondary space where all my shipping supplies and other beading / supply things are stored. I have a LOT of stuff. *sigh*
Right now I have these tool organizers with little drawers that I bought at Home Depot ages and ages ago. It works okay but I have three of them and I'm still overflowing with supplies!Maybe for Christmas I should ask for something like this...
If anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them! =) And if you can spare some time ... I'd love to take it off your hands!!!

Hi. Thanks for commenting on my blog. It does help me to decide.
I think you could get everything on that web site and still overflow :)
LOL Thanks Babs!!! =)
Wow! Lots of beading stuff. I am jealous! I used to bead, but as soon as my younger 2 were old enough to get into stuff I had to sell every bead thing I had. It was a very sad day. But they were spreading everything all over the house. No telling how many beads my kids or my dogs ate. :o) I LOVE your jewelry.
Oh no Mee2!!! That doesn't give me hope at all! ROFL
Hi Casto- one of things I've done to help keep my supplies in check is force myself to do "use what you've got" challenges. Believe me I know the addictive nature of a crafter (and doubly so of jewelry makers!) We just can't pass up a pretty bead or a good deal, no matter if we have room for it or not! Anyway, I find it does help to force myself to make things on a regular basis using only the supplies I have on hand. Sometimes I actually discover goodies I long since forgot I had.
You could also do a destash project and open an Etsy shop to get rid of things you'll never use (or if you already have an Etsy shop, you could make a new category in it to sell off supplies)...
ps, love that desk you're admiring, is it Ikea?
Wow, lol. That's a lot of stuff. But you are ze artiste!
Yeah, a huge desk with a million drawers might help. :D
Tara...I should TOTALLY do that. The only problem is occasionally I have to order things like PMC, wire, etc. I guess I could put myself on bead and pearl restriction. :( Oh that sounds so sad.
Oh I know...for Lent! ROFL I'm not Catholic but that's okay. I could still participate.
I actually found the desk using a search online. Thought I included a link in the post to it.
hahahah Rebecca...ze arteest. Yes, zat iz moi!
Ooo, I want one of them, too! I'd like it in my own studio, too, but that's unlikely to happen at least for another year or so!
Ug...only a year Anna!?!? I figure I've got at least 5 years before we can afford to move or build our own place ... and that's if we win the lotto! :) Which is tough since we don't play.
Oh, you don't want to know how many dog leashes and collars we have too. lol I always buy them when I see a good deal because you never know whos' going to end up on our lap next. They are stashed everywhere. DH even found one in the bedroom last night, lol.
Notice I blogged my junk drawer, and not any of my crafting and fabric mess, er, collection. ;)
*grin* Storm...I am even more ashamed of our junk drawer!
We also find dog leashes everywhere. :)
I feel for you. I just organized my mess and it now needs organizing again. Yes....big sigh.. :0, but I do love being able to just sit down and make something without having to go buy something...hence the reason we have so much stuff.
Dana...it's the "what if" disease. "What if" I need that someday? =) LOL
Wow, you have a lot of stuff. I'm kinda jealous. :) I really need a workspace though if I did have that much.
