Do You Really Know?

Do you really know what you voted for? I have a feeling some people will be in for some very big surprises...

Via Pamibe...I love this.

While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

‘Welcome to heaven,’ says St. Peter. ‘Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we’re not sure what to do with you.’

‘No problem, just let me in,’ says the man.

‘Well, I’d like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we’ll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.’

‘Really, I’ve made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,’ says the senator.

‘I’m sorry, but we have our rules.’

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.

They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly & nice guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises..

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.

‘Now it’s time to visit heaven.’

So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

‘Well, then, you’ve spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.’

The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: ‘Well, I would never have said it bef ore, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.’

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

Now the doors of the elevator open and he’s in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. ‘I don’t understand,’ stammers the senator. ‘Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, dr ank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there’s just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable.
What happened?’

The devil looks at him, smiles and says, ‘Yesterday we were campaigning…

Today you voted.’

*snort* Too funny.

And this should scare if you ... really. It should. Seriously. I'm not kidding. "REQUIRE" is the key word here.

"Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year."

Riiiiiiggghhhhttttt.

Do you understand? You will be REQUIRED to perform services for your "community" whether you want to or not. If that does not scare you then you have not studied history. Nor have you learned from history.

Yet another reason why I refuse to remain unarmed. An unarmed citizenry is ripe for the taking. I'm not saying that we're approaching some revolutionary shift in fundamental civil rights akin to the horrific bloodshed that was China and Russia ... but it is there on the horizon and we can choose to allow it or fight it. I choose to fight. No one will FORCE me to do anything.

And if I had a teacher try to do this to me I would have been sick ... of course at the time when I was in school I probably agreed with all my teachers. And if I were this girl's mother I would be OUTRAGED. Beyond outraged. Furious and mama bear dangerous. I love the kids supporting Obama ... Why? *blank stares* They don't know. Because their parents do because that's what kids do. Duh. And way to try to put words in their mouths teacher. Force your opinions much?

*sigh*

I'm not feeling very optimistic right now. Can you tell? Which is NOT like me. I'm a very optimistic person by nature. So it ticks me off when I'm not.

Good luck with that requirement. Bwahahahahaha. I find it laughable.

Have a great day sweetie. Quit worrying. Nothing going to change for a very long time. Well taxes will get higher, but besides that. Big hug honey. :)

Hmmmm, doesn't the 13th amendment say something about prohibiting "involuntary servitude"?

I'm just sayin'.....

I'm not sure the urge to scream and rip my hair out will ever go away. I may have to stop reading the bloggers who voted for Obama because many of them are becoming insufferable.

While part of me hopes he gets shit together, another part of me can't wait until he does something so we can say I told you so!

I'm an asshole.

*giggle* PGirl you crack me up. I don't think you're an asshole. I think it's totally normal. I am already laughing at some of the incredulity from some of his supporters not getting paid. Duh! What did they expect? Get used to it. *sigh*

He changed the website already! When my husband came to bed last night he said '...guess who's been working on change?' LOL!
