Important Stuff Before Tuesday

I don't really get how anyone can be undecided at this point ... but just in case anyone is ... the "mainstream" media won't share these with you.

Obama Kicks Off Disagreeing Reporters - No Dissent Allowed (and yes, the article mentions McCain not allowing access from the Dowd...but come on...it's the Dowd!)

It's Going to be like Christmas? Obama-Claus

Are You a Citizen, or a Subject?

This gave me chills!

It's Clearly the Government's Job. Not ours as individuals. Duh.

Who Would Iraqis Vote For?

Tipping Less? - I like the note idea.

Have a Happy Halloween and a great weekend!

Good grief. That last one is indeed very scary. Very scary indeed. Big hug. :)

Tipping less? I think not!

I work in a restaurant, and the idea of "redistributing" my tip (aka my salary) to punish me for an Obama presidency is absurd!

As of course you know, Casto, not all "middle class" people are looking for a handout, and not all "rich" people are out to screw everyone.....

Yikes. That got me worked up a little....

I'm really annoyed by this blind anti-democrat and the trying-to-convince-everyone thing.
Who would the entire world vote for? Have you forgotten this part of the story? 80% (if not more) of the world wants Obama. Maybe this means something. A little open-ness from the 'biggest' country of the world wouldn't hurt anyone.
The thing I dislike particularly about Republicans is how religion is hidden behind every statement. It is called extremism, too. Being anti-abortion, anti-gay, pro-war, is so not 2008, it's 1850. Those 3 reasons alone make me anti-Republican. Even if I don't vote in your country, I'm most scared by the result of Nov 4th than I was on Oct 14th on our own election day.
Besides, I find it rather funny (to not say ignorant) that you call Obama a socialist. Obama is still way more conservative than our conservative party here in Canada, by the way. And by definition, in a socialist country, everything is owned by the government, which is clearly far from whatever Obama would bring. If you had to pay $25k/yr for your meds like I would have to if we didn't have public health insurance, would you change your mind?

I guess my point is that your information sources are clearly biased, and you take whatever seems to be in favor of McCain to be the truth, and misinterpret whatever could be against Obama. This proves how much you DON'T have arguments, and THIS is the bad part. EVEN if I disagree with you in the end, if you had arguments, or a clear point of view exposing BOTH sides of the story with equal criticism, then I wouldn't be writing this and I would think that you made an informed decision. And I'm ticked off because I see way too much of this in the blogs I read.

Hey Marie! I don't know who you think you're talking to, but you are WAAAY off base....
First of all, I am not religious. I am neither anti-abortion, anti-gay nor pro-war.

And as for the rest of the world wanting Obama? Who gives a flying f***? This is America and we will choose our own leaders, thank you very much. When other countries toss their products, tax money and military into the American mix, then maybe they can have a say in our government.

Would I change my mind about being a Republican if my medical expenses were high? NO. I am a believer in individual responsibility. If a person has crushing medical expenses, there are already charities and government assistance available to them. Obama's plan is not to assist people who are truly in need. His aim is to bring everyone into a government-run plan so that Government can control more aspects of our lives, therefore justifying taking more money from the people who earned it and giving it to the causes that THEY deem to be deserving.

When you speak of closed-minded Republicans, and paint all of us with such a broad brush, it only shows YOUR closed-minded perspective and reveals you to be ignorant of how America works and the basic fundamental ideals upon which America was founded.

I am happy that someone who has such a weak education about America and Americans doesn't have any way to influence our elections.

Well, Marie...you've clearly not read other posts on my Blog. I DO make clear arguments against "the one".

And to be quite honest and blunt... I don't give a rat's behind what the rest of the world thinks. WHO THE HELL CARES WHAT FRANCE, CANADA, OR GERMANY THINKS??? This is AMERICA and I only care about what Americans think about our leaders. In fact ... I kind of think it is better when the rest of the world "hates" us ... maybe then so many people wouldn't be fleeing TO us. But somehow I doubt it...this is one of the best countries in the world for opportunity and the ability to become successful.

Oh but I'm sure those comments makes me a racist, right?

And nowhere in any of my posts have I even brought up religion. I am religious but not in an "I go to church every Sunday" kind of way. But religion plays not one single drop into my decisions.

Canada is a socialist country and I do NOT want such a country. Obama IS a socialist. He WANTS the government to take over everything (even more so than it already has). He wants to redistribute the wealth from hard working Americans to those who sit on their asses and collect welfare.

I agree that our government already has too long of an arm into all sectors of life. TOO much. It's ENOUGH already. I don't want it to go any further.

We'll see what happens. It's clear to me though that you know jack squat about real Republicans and only believe your own biased news media (who only tells you what they want you to hear or read). Canada isn't exactly a stalwart for free speech.

I do not take anything seriously from people who can't even vote or have a voice in our elections. What's the point?

Oh...SPEAKDOG...I would tip you HUGE!!! =) MASSIVE tippage coming your way baby!!! *grin*

I am very much an old fashioned tipper. If the service is good I give a "good" tip (10-15%). If service is excellent I will give as much as I can ... sometimes even 50% of the bill. If the service sucks I've been known to leave nothing. But that is rare.

jana said...

Oh, and one more thing...I am not so closed-minded that I only get my information from right leaning sources. I watch CNN, MSNBC and FOX. I listen to Rush Limbaugh and NPR. I read blogs from both sides of the aisle. I even read that wretched book Obama wrote so that I could be better informed about him and his policies.

So, your assumption that we are all just listening to what we want to listen to in order to hear what we only want to hear is not only absurd, it is insulting.

Yes Megan, I read your other posts, but held off till now before stepping in. And I think that to not give a fuck about the rest of the world is WRONG - especially when you (the country) force the rest of the world to live under your rules. This makes no sense.
And Canada is NOT socialist. We are at 'right', believe it or not. The US 'left' is still more at 'right' than our 'right', but that doesn't make us socialists.

I guess we cannot argue over the fact that you want the govt to only manage currency and army, and that I think it's a bad thing. This is our own values and I do respect that.

When talking about other countries, my point was 'this means something', not that I want to vote or tell you what to do. We do not have the same view of your country, because I think we see things that you don't see. Remember how you see bad past relationships you may have had, or how your parents saw it when your were (hypothetically) going out with a loser but you didn't? How everything seems so different when your look at it from the outside? My point of view, when reading all the previous posts here, is exactly that every sentence reported here is strongly biased. A bunch of copy-pasted words taken from 30 sources doesn't make an argument, IMO. But a complete essay with a pro, a con, and discussion of it might do it. Maybe it's just the way you write... but that was and is still my feeling.

jana said...

Oooh, I have one more thing to say (sorry Casto, I'm not trying to take over your whole comments section, honest!)

But, the reason "the world" wants Obama is not so that America will remain strong. It is so that America will be brought down to the level of everyone else.

Socialism doesn't work. It's been proven time and again in Europe. Economies and suffer under Socialism, and other countries are tired of America being the most powerful nation in the world.

The question that should frighten Americans is this: If America isn't the leader anymore, who is? China? Russia? The only thing worse than Socialism is Communism. Because Communists are responsible for the deaths of millions of people.

Put that in your pipe and smoke on it for a little while. It's not pretty, is it?

And that's it for me today, I promise!

My heart and/or my head will explode if I don't get away from this computer and this election for a few hours.

It's 66 degrees and sunny in Illinois. I probably won't see this again until next May. I'm taking my dogs for a walk.

CastoCreations said...

Uh...I never said the F word. If you'll notice.

But I don't. Give an F that is.

How in the world is Canada at "right"... how do you define right??? In Washington State, at the border towns, we have people coming HERE for medical care because the Canada system is so screwed up. People in Canada get sued for expressing their expression and face risk of fines and jail time! (Mark Steyn) How is any of that to the "right"... you mean it could become MORE leftist?!? Good grief.

I fully admit to being biased. I am a CONSERVATIVE (not necessarily a Republican) and I do NOT want the government in my life except to provide infrastructure and military/police. That's it. Everything else is anathema to the Constitution.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights MEANS something to me. Of course, it means nothing to you because Canada is sort of the anti-America. But then again I'd never want to live in Canada. Visit BC maybe. But never live there.

I don't want the government taking 50% (or MORE) of my paycheck.

Including 50% from any profit I may someday make (yeah right) from selling jewelry.

Doesn't it bother you at all that your government takes your hard earn money from your beautiful jewelry???!!!??? And the customs charges that they impose just to order supplies and things? It's INSANE! Your hard work and creativity should not be punished by a massive and corrupt government.

I'm glad that the courts have finally started allowing private health care up there. At least that's a start in the right direction.

Unfortunately, if "the one" is elected here we'll be going in entirely the WRONG direction. *sigh*

I have given many arguments, Marie. MANY. Not just "links" to other sources.

And many of the ones I linked to today weren't even so called "biased" links ... sites like ABC and Breitbart aren't exactly conservative bastions. Just because they don't spout your beliefs doesn't make them biased.

I'm biased. And proud of it!

It's amazing to me that liberals think the rest of the world should matter so much. Or rather our 'standing' in it.

The United States, a.k.a. the greatest country on the face of the earth, has liberated more nations, rebuilt more nations, financed more nations and donated more money to help things like AIDS and tsunamis... than any other country.

If you don't care for this, however, we *can* just stay home next time.

pamibe said...

OH, and the 'religion' thing? My husband, a conservative Republican, is an atheist.

Talk about profiling! LOL!

CastoCreations said...

*giggle* @ pamibe! Yes, we could just stay home I suppose. lol And sometimes I wish we would!!! But then again genocide sucks too.

We're the country that they love to hate. But yet don't realize how much they NEED us.

This IS the greatest country on God's Green Earth (as Medved is fond of saying). :)

BTW Mary, I met more nice Canadians in Palo Alto, California (home of Stanford Medical Center and Sequoia Hospital) who were there for life saving health treatments....and noooo...the Canadian government wasn't paying for it. I guess that's the end of that shit once Obama fixes US medical care for all of us strugglin' folks back here in the lower 48.

To Marie-michele lanthier:

Where do you get your facts? 80% of the world? No one asked me...

The fact of the matter is, Obama is simply not qualified for the job. It's like hiring a maintenance man to be a surgeon. McCain spent more time as an injured and tortured POW than Obama has spent in the Senate. And besides that position, he has NO experience or qualifications to hold the highest office in our country.

If the 'world' does want Obama, there's a reason in it for them. You're in Canada, 'nough said.

Forget the price of health care, if you had to hold a viable baby in your arms until it died not giving it any comfort or care because it's mom just 'didn't want it' maybe you'd have a different opinion of some of the principals Obama stands for. He wants to take away and overwrite decisions we have already voted on...that's not ok.

You are complaining that this blogger is bias and unfair, but really, so are you. So there ya go.
